It’s no secret that Red Dead Redemption 2 will be Rockstar’s most ambitious open-world game yet, with a map that is as massive as it is rich with characters, places and things to do. RDR2 is promising a living world and from the previews of said game it looks like RDR2 is going to deliver just that. Immersing ones’ self in the boots of Arthur Morgan (protagonist) would be a missed opportunity for feeling that immersion on an entirely different level. Things look a lot different when their happening through our eyes. While third person offers certain game vantages it can take away from the feeling of actually being whatever character.

Playing RDR2 in first-person could mean a world of difference for the very world. As mentioned, the west of Red Dead Redemption 2 is massive and seeing some of the vistas that litter every corner of this game are sure to be breathtaking. It’s that feeling of going on a good hike only to come up over whatever ridge and be swept away by what lays just over that horizon line. The world of RDR2 looks to be vastly versatile with mountains, plains, swamps and deserts. Traveling through the world of RDR2 in first-person is sure to be even more breathtaking than having to watch the butt-end of a horse as it poops. Not that there is anything wrong with the level of detail Rockstar is going for, but at least you won’t have to watch your horse do the business. Kidding aside, again, like GTAV when brought to first-person there was something much more tangible present in making ones’ way through the world. Being on the ground level of it all while interacting with all of it feels quite different than traveling through that same world in third-person.

A common complaint about Red Dead Redemption 2 is its pacing. People say it takes too long for game play to become interesting, and even longer for the story to pick up. This definitely is true, but it’s also not an entirely negative statement. A good payoff requires patience, and it takes time for the player to become attached to all the charact

This question has been thrown around a few times because of the heavy simulation elements, but it should be clarified that Red Dead Redemption 2 is not a role playing game. Sure, reddeadstation.com there are stats and upgrades, but those are par for the course in most contemporary games. Just because there is a progression system does not make it kin to Final Fantasy and Dragon Quest . After all, just about every game involves players taking on a r

Whether wanting to play in third-person as RDR2 is presented or taking the plunge and playing entirely in first-person, Red Dead Redemption 2 is sure to be fun. It just might be more fun playing entirely through the eyes of Arthur. Obviously, one is not better than the other, but having the opportunity to experience the West with ones’ own eyes on the ground level of it all, with the amount of detail Rockstar has put in is sure to be a wildly different experience. Red Dead Redemption 2 comes out October 27 for PC, PS4 and Xbox One.

“Multiplayer in Red Dead Redemption offers players a whole new way to encounter the massive open world we’ve created, but we felt the experience would not be complete without co-op game play,” said Sam Houser, Founder of Rockstar Games. “With these missions, we wanted to create new ways for players to share in the experience of engaging with this amazing landsca

Strong male leads haven’t always been too prevalent in Rockstar’s games. John Marston, on the other hand, was an exception. While his back story was a bit generic, he had a swagger about him that added to his personality. But having a strong protagonist was only one aspect that made the game’s narrative so spectacular. In short, Red Dead Redemption’s premise revolved around John Marston taking down members of his former gang to save his wife and son. Without giving too much away, the narrative was a well crafted, filled with a likeable cast of characters and scenes that will have anyone sitting at the edge of their seat, but the ending is what made it and set the bar for emotional storytelling. It’s safe to say that Red Dead Redemption went out with a bang (har har).

As if this already sweet piece of video game pie couldn’t possibly get any better, Rockstar turns around and announces its first DLC. Usually, announcements like these piss me off to the core, especially when publishers are trying to hit gamers up for more bread right after they spent 60 bucks on the title alone. However, Rockstar is about to hook us all up with Co-op goodness available for download on the Xbox 360 and PS3 in June at the same time for the price of free. “Outlaws to the End” is the name of the expansion and it allows for 2-4 players to join up online and take on 6 additional missions in the game. Check out some descriptions as well as new screens from some of the missions be
